The growing demand for large-scale power generation units has driven a corresponding rise in the market demand for hollow conductors. In terms of technological advancement, my country has successfully developed Class F insulated hollow copper flat conductors designed for the rotor windings of 600 MW steam turbine generators. A breakthrough has also been achieved in the development of ultra-long, seamless hollow conductors for rotors-suitable for 700 MW dual-water internal-cooling generators-with individual lengths reaching 142 meters and weighing 273 kilograms.
Direct-cooling technology using hollow conductors is also being applied in the electric vehicle sector; for instance, solutions from companies like Hyperdrives utilize hollow conductors and direct-cooling designs to lower motor winding temperatures while achieving weight reduction.
To address the future requirements for even higher-capacity power generators, the industry is currently building up forward-looking technical capabilities for the production of longer and heavier hollow conductors.
