Hardness Testing: Upon receipt, it is recommended to perform spot checks on the surface hardness of the welding wheels using a Brinell or Rockwell hardness tester (e.g., verifying a range of HRB 78–88, if specified) to ensure compliance with the agreed-upon requirements.
Periodic Dressing: The surface of the welding wheel should be dressed every 8 hours of operation using a dedicated grinding wheel to remove oxide scale and burrs. A removal depth of 0.1–0.3 mm is typically sufficient and helps extend the service life of the welding wheel.
Safety Warnings: During welding, the current can reach tens of thousands of amperes; therefore, it is essential to ensure proper electrical insulation between the welding wheel and the machine frame to prevent electric shocks. Additionally, the operating area should be equipped with arc-protection curtains.
